  9.    After Holger Kruse decided to provide a callback hook interface for
  10. examining packets in his TCP/IP stack Miami, I got the idea to program a
  11. link cps display. Some networking programs (like web browsers and ftp
  12. clients) show the characters per second they get, but these show quite few
  13. information, restricted to the data throughput of only this program and
  14. some only display the average cps.

  16.    So I programmed MiamiSpeedMeter, a program that displays the data
  17. throughput on a specified link, all of it, including IP headers. It
  18. shows both current and average cps, divided into inbound and outbound
  19. streams, in configurable intervals.
